• Clipptabs Browser Extension: Operates locally on your device to deliver your new-tab dashboard, bookmarks, and shortcuts.
• Clipptabs Website: Our marketing, informational, and customer support portal.
• Third-Party Payment Processors (Paddle): Merchant of Record handling financial transactions, tax compliance, and billing.
• Infrastructure & Database Providers (Supabase): Secure cloud infrastructure used solely for user authentication and encrypted workspace synchronization for Pro accounts.

A. Information You Provide to Us

• Account Information: When you create an account to enable cloud sync, we collect your email address and authentication credentials (or third-party OAuth identifiers if you choose Google Sign-In).
• Workspace & Configuration Data: Your bookmarks, folder structures, shortcuts, custom labels, layout preferences, and theme choices.
• Customer Support Communications: Content of emails or messages sent to our support channels, including bug reports and feedback.

B. Information Automatically Collected

• Technical & Device Information: Browser type, extension version, and operating system environment to diagnose compatibility and ensure stability.
• Website Analytics: Standard server logs, IP addresses, referring URLs, and basic interaction telemetry on our public marketing website to monitor site performance.

C. Payment & Financial Information

When you purchase a subscription or lifetime license, payments are processed directly by our Merchant of Record, Paddle. Clipptabs does NOT collect, store, or process your credit card numbers, bank details, or CVVs. We only receive a transaction confirmation reference, license key status, and renewal dates.

D. What We Do NOT Collect

We do not monitor, log, or store your browsing history. We do not track which websites you visit outside of your explicit bookmark tiles. We do not sell your personal data or browsing habits to advertisers or data brokers.

4. How We Use Information

We use collected information strictly for the following purposes:

• To provide, maintain, and deliver the Clipptabs workspace functionality.
• To synchronize your bookmarks and preferences across your authorized devices (for cloud sync users).
• To verify Pro subscription and lifetime license entitlements.
• To respond to your inquiries, bug reports, and technical support requests.
• To maintain application security, prevent fraudulent abuse, and ensure high system uptime.

5. Data Storage & Retention

Local Storage: For non-synced accounts, all bookmark and workspace data is saved entirely locally within your browser’s extension storage API (`chrome.storage.local`). If you uninstall the extension without an account, your local data is removed by your browser.

Cloud Synchronization: For registered accounts using multi-device sync, data is retained in our secure Supabase database for as long as your account remains active. You can request deletion of your account and associated synced data at any time.

6. Third-Party Service Providers

We engage reputable third-party service providers to facilitate our services:

• Paddle.com: Payment processing, order management, and global sales tax compliance. Subject to Paddle's privacy policies.
• Supabase: Cloud database and authentication infrastructure. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest.
• Chrome Web Store / Chromium Extensions Ecosystem: Extension distribution and update delivery.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. All API traffic between the extension and backend systems occurs over secure HTTPS connections.
